Kawasaki Motors traces its motorcycle origins to the early 1960s as part of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, a company founded in 1896 with deep roots in shipbuilding, rail, and aircraft engineering. Applying that heavy-industry expertise to two wheels, Kawasaki released its first motorcycles in 1961 and quickly became known for powerful, technologically advanced machines.
